Drip Tech showcasing easy box at ZAS

ZIM AGRIC SHOW-Drip Tech Irrigation is showcasing an Italian brand of electrical booster pump (the easy box) with a variable speed drive motor that maintains constant pressure in the system at the ongoing Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS).
The six-day show began on Monday under the theme: Sustained Growth: Adaptation. Productivity. Linkages.
DripTech specialises in supplying irrigation equipment. The Italian brand booster has been in circulation for over eight years. It cost US$1 000.
Drip Tech Salesperson Edmore Mukumirwa told The Mirror that his organisation is the only supplier.
He added that they have five branches in Harare and one in Mutare. Drip Tech supplies the easy box to its agents, such as Halsteads, N. Richards, and Electrosales.
“The easy box is different from other booster pumps in that it has a variable speed drive motor inside, maintains constant pressure in the system, a soft starter and does not require much energy on start-up current. It can carry a half horsepower up to two horsepower. If a farmer sets the pressure on the system, the pump will maintain that pressure regardless of how many outlets are open, it gives equal pressure to all outlets.
“The product has been in the local market for about eight years now but people are not aware of it. We are still trying to market it to replace the old buster pump that works with pressure tanks,” said Mukumirwa.
Mukumirwa added that they sell an average of 10 easy boxes per month.
“We specialise in Irrigation, that is overhead, drip and centre pivots. Installation we are currently doing them for large-scale farmers. We also do submersible pumps for the Tesla or DAB (Italian) and Morisson (Chinese). The supply ranges from 0.5 up to two horsepower. The organisation offers a two-year warranty on all DAB pumps. For drip Irrigation, we have different types of drip lines and we also supply tanks ranking from 1 000 up to 5 000 tanks,” he said.
The organisation displays generators and pop-up sprinklers for lawn Irrigation, among other products.
“Along with booster pumps, we also hold a wide range of accessories such as pressure tanks, pressure switches and gauges, easy-press controllers and float switches, along with basic spares such as seal kits and capacitors. We also stock all the fittings and piping required for even the most complicated of installations, ” he added.
