MASVINGO – The second edition of the Masvingo bakers’ skills and idea training workshop is set for May 1, this year at Flamboyant, a Regency Group hotel.
The workshop is organised by Supreme Bakers comprising Sanganai Kasinamunhu, Tariro Marangwanda, Priscilla Mutemeri, Precious Kutirai and Clearance Dumba.
Kasinamunhu told The Mirror that attendance and investment fee is US$70. Renowned South African baker Zinhle Mbambo of Geli-Delish Cakes and business coach Dr Watson Munyanyi are the guest speakers.
The workshop is a platform for bakers from across the country to share new baking skills and new marketing strategies to uplift upcoming bakers.
“We are expecting over 50 bakers. The first edition was a resounding success. We are promising a bigger workshop this year. The grand prize for this year’s edition is a burner gas stove. We are expecting several guests and some are coming from as far as South Africa. Bakers will be taught entrepreneurial skills,” she said.
The workshop will be sponsored by Sunroma and Cosmic Confection and some corporates that will attend the workshop are Bakers World and Geli-Delish.
Last year’s edition was held on May 25, and it was sponsored by Gloria Flour. Over 50 bakers attended.
