BEITBRIDGE-The Deputy Minister of Information, Communication, Technology, Postal and Courier Services Dungumuzi Phuti has donated laptops, a multipurpose printer and a projector to Vhembe and St Joseph High schools in Beitbridge.

The donations were done recently with the aim of digitizing the education sector in the border town. The ministry of ICT is doing the project jointly with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ).

Phuti was accompanied by Beitbridge Town Clerk Loud Ramakgapola and several Government departments heads.

He said that failure to cope with the modern-day technological advancements is a form of disability for school pupils and Government is working towards curbing that disability.

“It’s not good in this day and age that  our children cannot operate a computer, virtually that is the most identifiable form of disability and Government does not that we are on this drive of donating technological gadgets. Our children have to be know how to operate and use these gadgets,” said Phuti.

St Joseph High School prefect Rejoice Muchanga said students are now able to do their Continuous Academic Learning Assessment (CALA) researches and projects with easy.

Vhembe High School head girl Nqobizitha Mfandaidza told Two Nations that the donation will go a long way in improving student studies as their projects have to be researched online, typed and printed.
