Chikomba – It was one big bash and a uniting one!
Good Hope Junior School held birthday celebrations for all pupils and parents whose birthdays fell in the first term.
The birthdays were held on the closing day of the first term on Wednesday which meant that the bash covered parents and pupils born between January 1 and April 7.

The bash was held shortly after the launch of Dangwa Trust Mobile Library at the school.
109 children and 49 parents had birthdays within the period.
The school head Kudakwashe Nyani said the birthdays are a way of creating a social bond amongst teachers, pupils and parents. It also covers for pupils who could not have private birthdays at home.

The SDC Secretary Margaret Taruvinga said it was an event that created a platform for informal discussion and helps built the schools.
The funds to hold the birthdays were raised from civic day functions held during the course of the term. Pupils who had birthdays between 1 January and April 7 paid US$2 and the rest paid US$1

.
The school brought 25 cakes from Ok Mart and five from a parent. Ok Mart also donated three big cakes, a tent and 23 truffles for all teachers at the school. A parent also donated two cakes.
“We are grateful for holding such an event. It gives parents, teachers and the SDC a platform for informal interactions that help in the development of the school,” said Taruvinga.https://masvingomirror.com/
