GWERU – Drug abuse problems are taking Zimbabwe by storm.

A 20-year old suspected drug addict from Mkoba 16 in Gweru allegedly went berserk on Saturday morning and struck his aunt’s neighbour, Charity Moyo (59) with an axe.

Moyo died upon admission at Gweru Provincial Hospital after she was struck several times by Panashe Jamari.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident to The Mirror.

Sources told The Mirror that Jamari struck Moyo as she tried to talk him out of attacking his grandmother who had locked herself inside the house following a misunderstanding. Moyo approached Jamari who was outside the house and that is when he struck her.

Mahoko appealed to members of the public to always settle deputes amicably. https://masvingomirror.com
