ZNCC trains women entrepreneurs

MASVINGO – The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) held a two-day workshop in Masvingo on Tuesday and Wednesday in which they trained women entrepreneurs on various subjects including emerging business opportunities.
The 40 women were drawn from Masvingo and Zvishavane districts. The workshop was under the theme “Transforming Economic Realities into Market Opportunities” and it was organised by ZNCC and funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) also participated.
ZNCC Masvingo branch chairperson and N. Richards Group Southern Region director Andrew Chekani said the workshop was for women entrepreneurs to participate in an interactive two-day session designed to foster business and professional growth.
“We expected them to gain the skills they need to communicate, negotiate and lead with confidence. The content which sought to reduce business incapabilities gap was being delivered in partnership with GZU and (UNDP),” he said.
Additionally, the aim was also to ensure that women-owned Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can participate in emerging opportunities resulting from rapid technological change-for example digital innovation, artificial intelligence (AI), green technology, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math) so they can be competitive domestically and internationally,” he added.
Some of the topics under discussion were emerging opportunities for women-owned businesses and leadership for organizational impact.
