Zizhou wins Agric 24 Marathon

ZVISHAVANE – Munyaradzi Zizhou an athlete from Masvingo has won the inaugural Great Dyke Athletics Club/Agric 24 10km road race in 28:35 minutes.
The race took place last week.
The race which began at Agric 24 agro shop running around lot 4 and ending at the shop featured 19 athletes in the male category and Zizhou came first ahead of Lordbismar Mathe of Great Dyke Club.
Zizhou received a gold medal as well as USD$100 with Mathe getting a silver medal and USD $75. Joseph Mashavakure of Athletics Club Blanket who came third got USD $75.
Nkulumo Dube claimed pole position in the 30km mountain bike race clocking 1:00:30 3 minutes ahead of Maxwell Masuku who clocked 1:03:47 and Pearson Runesu claimed third position.
Exsto Makunzva claimed the first prize in the male’s walkathon with Lot Mutungamiri claiming second position and Ndabayezwe Ncube coming third.

Godknows Sithole won the 5km fun run ahead of Nathan Masuku. This was the first competition that the two institutions have collaborated and are planning to make it an annual event.
Great Dyke Athletics club was founded in 2015 by former athletes Stephen Phiri, Maliakini Makunganya, Kudakwashe Gwatirisa and Miriam Magwizi.
