BEITBRIDGE-The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Hawks (ZimHawks) is holding an anti-corruption awareness campaign at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge next Saturday.
ZimHawks director of investigations and training Brighton Muzengeza confirmed the matter to Two Nations.
He said they chose to hold the campaign in Beitbridge since it is one of the places most affected by corruption.
ZimHawks is a private anti-corruption organisation established in May 2018. It has investigators who served or are serving in the State security sector. The organisation is involved in national anti-corruption programs.
Muzengeza said there is a need to educate and raise awareness on corruption among Beitbridge residents. They are expecting at least 400 residents to attend the lecture.
They will educate residents on identifying different forms of corruption, prevention, and the role of community in fighting it.
A letter written to Beitbridge ZRP says ZimHawks works with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and Police Anti-Corruption Unit (PACU).
“The campaign is a reaction to the rampant corruption at Beitbridge Border Post. We are working hand in glove with Government arms mandated to fight corruption, such as PACU and ZACC.
“We have brave investigators with high expertise deployed nationwide. In 2022, some investigators joined the Anti-Smuggling joint operation in Beitbridge. Our efforts are to mitigate and eradicate corruption in Zimbabwe,” reads the latter.
ZimHawks has branches in Gwanda and Gokwe South and has previously held similar public lectures in Midlands and Manicaland Provinces.
