MASVINGO -Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Eastern Region Soccer  League (ERSL) has fined six teams which did not attend an online registration course- , Mirror Sport can reveal. The ZIFA Connect and a technical courses were held in Masvingo at Flamboyant Hotel last weekend with 11 out of 17 ERSL clubs in attendance. The ZIFA Connect  is a practical course where clubs were taught how to register and  transfer players online.

In an interview with Mirror Sport, the regional vice chairman Wisdom Simba said the region is not happy with clubs who failed to send their representatives to the courses. Simba said the region also held a technical course aimed at equipping clubs on rules and regulations of football.

“We are not happy with those clubs who did not attend these two important courses. We are going to fine them. The course fee for both the  ZIFA Connect and the technical course was USD$100  per two participants. Each club was  required to provide two participants. They now have to pay USD $200 per two participants.

“One course was online registration which we call the ZIFA Connect. This is where clubs are taught how to register their players, how to transfer and how to request for players from other clubs. It’s an advantage to the clubs because a club can not just grab a player from other clubs, the system will show that he is still registered under a certain club,” he said.

“After the Zifa Connect, we held  a technical course where we taught on rules and regulations of the game. Those clubs who failed to attend are the same clubs who give us problems during the course of the league,” said Simba.

The clubs which attended include FC Hunters, Rusitu Tigers, Midway, Chisase, FC Mazodze, Masvingo United, Surrey, Mutare City, JM Busha and Renco Mine. Those who failed to attend include the army and former PSL side Buffaloes FC, Chiredzi FC, relegated Prisons and Correctional Services side Tenax FC, Melfort, Ruwa and Grayham.
