ZIFA bids Machawira farewell

MASVINGO –The country’s football governing board, ZIFA is tomorrow (Saturday) bidding farewell to long serving Eastern Region long serving administrator, Tedius Machawira (68) at Chevron Hotel in Masvingo Machawira retired recently after serving 19 years as ZIFA Eastern region administrator having assumed the role in 2001 when the regional block was formed.

ZIFA spokesperson, Xolisani Gwasela confirmed the matter to The Mirror and said ZIFA saw it fit to bid farewell to Machawira.

Bouncing ball

The Mirror has it on good authority that ZIFA national members will be present at the ceremony. “We are having a farewell party for Machawira tomorrow at Chevron Hotel. He has served for a long time in ZIFA and we saw it fit to hold a farewell for the veteran administrator,” said Gwasela.

Machawira joined ZIFA in 1998 after retiring from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). Meanwhile the position of administration has remained vacant and Machawira is still providing services to ZIFA. https://masvingomirror.com
