ZHOMBE- A suspected rapist left his victim’s house naked after she screamed for help and alerted her siblings sleeping in other rooms.
Midlands Police Spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the matter to The Mirror.
He said they have since launched a manhunt for Costa Muswazulu of Tito Village under Chief Malisa, Zhombe.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 9:30 pm at Mugan’a Village under Chief Malisa in Zhombe.
According to the circumstances, the minor (name withheld) was sleeping in a kitchen with her two minor siblings when Muswazulu broke in.
He allegedly produced a knife and threatened to kill her if she resisted or made noise. He then raped her.
The minor’s siblings woke up and screamed, alerting their older brother sleeping in another room. The brother went to the kitchen.
Muswazulu struck the brother who was attempting to apprehend him once on the head with a log and escaped naked.
He left his trousers and shoes. The items were seized as evidence by the police. Muswazulu is still at large.
“We are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in the arrest of Costa Muswazulu to approach their nearest Police station,” said Mahoko.
