ZERA, SIRDC conducting solar system installation trainings

MASVINGO-The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) and Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) are conducting week long Solar Photovoltaic system design and installation workshops across five provinces. 

In Masvingo, the program began on Monday at Flamboyant, a Regency Group Hotel and runs until tomorrow. It has 44 participants. 

SIRDC director of Energy Technology Engineer Tinotenda Zvarevashe said the main purpose of the training is to capacitate PV Solar Installers with best conduct on the installation of the systems in domestic set up, clinics, industries and schools.

“The training workshops for PV Solar system Installers are meant to ensure that they conduct their installations in a standard level that evade electrical accidents in homes and industries.  

“PV Solar Systems Installers are capacitated in various aspects that make up a standard PV Solar Systems to be safe and work perfectly to their clients,” he said.

The workshops are targeting people with a technical background who are working for companies that design, install and distribute Solar PV systems. 

SIRDC is a research centre under Government offering industrial support services in various sectors of the economy.
