Zanu PF youth get RTGS$5 000 bail for violence against Airforce personnel

CHIREDZI – Some 26 Zanu PF youth who were arrested after they attacked an Airforce of Zimbabwe vehicle while demonstrating against their eviction from Samba Ranch in Chiredzi have been granted RTGS$5 000 bail each.
Magistrate Simbarashe Gundani gave the 26 who are charged with public violence bail on Thursday last week after their application for the same reprieve was earlier refused on Monday.
The youth were part of a group of about 808 people who demonstrated against their eviction from the ranch which is now under prominent business and co-shareholder of Croco Motors, Moses Chingwena.
An Airforce of Zimbabwe driver Enock Moyo Mpilo and other occupants of the vehicle were injured during the attack.
They were remanded to August 18 2021.
