Chikomba – Zanu PF has suspended its District Coordinating Committee (DCC) chairperson Alfred Pedzisa for alleged gross misconduct.

The suspension was announced to the public at a rally held at Sadza Growth Point on Sunday by Zanu PF Mash East provincial chairperson Daniel Garwe.

The Mirror is in possession of a letter written by Garwe notifying party’s supporters on the issue.

Pedzisa confirmed the suspension in a telephone interview with The Mirror but denied the allegations. He said he was suspended on suspicion that he belonged to a faction led by one Shumbamhini and the reason was to stop him from participating in the 2023 national elections.

“The suspension is to pave way for the Minister of Transport and Chikomba Central MP Felix Mhona to contest in Chikomba East in the 2023 elections. They know that I am a threat to Mhona.

“The suspension is not fair because there was no hearing conducted,” said Pedzisa

“The DCC Chairman Alfred Pedzisa was relieved of his duties as Chairman to pave way for investigations of indiscipline and gross misconduct. Mhona has been appointed Acting DCC chairman for Chikomba District,” reads the lettter.

Shumbamhini is the former provincial commissar for Mashonaland East. He lost the provincial chairperson post to Garwe last year. Garwe also vowed to annihilate factional groups in Mash East by firing all DCC chairpersons.

Mhona recently promised 480 buffalo bicycles to all village heads in Chikomba Central.
