Zanu-PF Gweru Urban candidate launches election campaign

GWERU-Zanu-PF candidate for Gweru Urban Constituency Alex Mukwembi launched his election campaign at the party’s provincial office over the weekend and promised to fulfil his election promises.
He is contesting against incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Brian Dube (MDC-T) and Josiah Makombe (Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC).
Confident Mukwembi told gatherers that he is taking the seat from the opposition.
“I am confident that with the support I am getting, Zanu-PF is this time grabbing the Gweru Urban Constituency parliamentary seat.
“As Zanu-PF, we have started income-generating projects for women around the constituency. We are also empowering youth so they refrain from drug and substance abuse.
“I am happy with the support we are getting from the top party members, I want to thank you and together we will win Gweru Urban Constituency,” he said.
He donated food hampers to the old and sports regalia to party districts in the constituency.
Zanu-PF Secretary for External Affairs Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, who graced the launch, said it was time for Zanu-PF to reclaim urban seats from opposition parties.
“Let us stand united and work hard to win all the 28 constituencies in the province. Our party presidential candidate hails from this province. The people from his backyard province should offer him unshakable support.
“In the province, he spearheaded the construction of the giant Manhize Iron and Steel plant which is expected to lower the country’s high steel import bill and improve exports. As Zanu-PF, we are going to fulfil all our promises and people should not lose hope,” he said.
