NEMAMWA – Zanu PF and Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) will lock horns again in a by-election after their candidates Chenjerai Mumbire and Onias Mawarire successfully filed their nominations for Masvingo West Ward 21 by-elections to be held on June 25, 2022.

The by-elections are to replace Tinarwo Mupinga  a Zanu PF councillor who passed away in March this year.

The nomination court took place at Nemwana Growth point. The independent candidate Sister Nhando has since withdrawn from the race. The major fight is now between Zanu PF and CCC. The MDC T led by Douglas Mwonzora did not file any nomination.

“I am a resident of Ward 21, born in Masvingo and I really know the place and the people because I interact with them. I am therefore the best candidate,” said Mawarire.

He urged the electorate to open their eyes and select the rightful candidate as the ruling party have been doing nothing in the ward for the past 20 years.

Zanu PF candidate Mumbire said he was confident that he will defeat CCC candidate because he is development oriented.

The independent candidate Nhando could not be reached  for comment as her mobile was not reachable. https://masvingomirror.com/
