Young worker dies hours after birthday message to fiancé

CHIPINGE – It was a big tragedy for two Chipinge lovers when Terrence Matseka (27) who works for Zimbabwe’s biggest wholesale outlet N. Richards collapsed and died while pushing a trolley at work yesterday morning.

Matseka died a few hours after sending birthday wishes to his fiancé whom according to friends was planning to marry shortly. The terse message posted on Facebook together with a picture of the lovers said the day was a “perfect time for a wonderful day”.

Workers at N. Richards Chipinge were left shell-shocked by the sudden death. The deceased had a Degree in Rural and Urban Planning from GZU.

Matseka who was a till operator collapsed at around 11am and was taken to Chipinge District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The deceased’s father Kilford Matseka confirmed the death to Chipinge Times. He said that his son had no ailments and the death came as a great shock to everyone.

The postmortem will be conducted today and burial will be tomorrow.

The deceased did his primary at Gaza School.
