Masvingo Rural – Inmates at Ngomahuru had a good time at a Xmas party held at the institution on Friday last week, thanks to donations by Vasikana Vezhira, a group of 35 women from Masvingo who are based in the UK and Zuva Petroleum.
The staff at Ngomahuru must also be complemented for the event for it was the first ever Xmas party at the institution. The Mirror coordinated fund raising for the Christmas party.
The party started at around 2pm and the Provincial Medical Director, Dr Amadeus Shamu was represented by his Provincial Administration Officer, Raydah Chipunga.
There was deft footwork as the more than 100 inmates danced the afternoon away at the institution’s dining hall. The staff joined in and it was a day to remember.
Entertainment was provided by Ghetto Angels Dance Group and their rhythmic moves left the inmates in awe. The group’s coach Tendai Kwangware described the day as memorable.
Chipunga thanked Ngomahuru staff for working tirelessly to ensure that the function came out well. She also thanked all the donors and in particular Vasikana Vezhira, Zuva Petroleum and The Mirror.
Chipunga said Vasikana Vezhira were now part of the Ngomahuru Family. She called upon Masvingo business community to emulate Vasikana Vezhira and assist Ngomahuru.
Tavadzema Chizema an elder with the Seventh Day Adventist Church preached and gave a prayer at the party. https://masvingomirror.com
