GOKWE- A woman from the Zion Christian Church in Gokwe committed suicide by setting self ablaze inside her car on Thursday.The incident happened in a bush in Mazhanje Bomba, Gokwe after the woman left a church gathering.It could not be established at the time of printing why Masline Makwenda known as mai Dzikamwi committed suicide.The deceased’s church pastor, Micheal Mutimurefu confirmed the incident to The Mirror.

“It is true that we lost one of our congregants, she was a heroine so it is a great loss to the church. It is sad that we were with her that same day at church and there was nothing amiss in everything she did, she just performed her duties as our treasurer as usual and everything seemed normal so I was surprised when I heard the news.”If there was something wrong she could have shared it with someone but there was nothing suspicious, it is the work of the devil because the month of August is a month associated with demonic spirits.”This year is a very tough year because of drought so we also need some assistance here at the funeral for people to feed and get things in order,” said Mutimurefu.The deceased is survived by her three children two girls and one boy.Mourners are gathered at the deceased’s homestead in Bomba.
