MUTARE- Magistrate Perseverance Makala has fined a Mutare woman (18) ZWL$40 000 or alternately four months in jail after she assaulted her lover’s ex-wife over an undisclosed issue.

Wadzanai Mambodo (18) pleaded guilty to assaulting Mitchel Mutisi (22) on February 13, at Buwerimwe Business Centre under Chief Zimunya at around 5 pm.

Prosecutor Thom Nyamutswa told the court that Wadzanai approached Mutisi and asked her whether her lover, Blessing Dota was the father of her child and Mutisi confirmed.

Wadzanai then charged towards Mutisi and assaulted her with clenched on the face and her back several times before she was restrained by other people at the business centre.

Mutisi did not sustain visible injuries but reported the matter to the Police leading to the arrest of Wadzanai.
