Mutare – Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

A housewife holed in South Africa for a year while looking for a job created drama at Mutare Magistrates Court when she assaulted a woman she found cohabitating with her husband on her return.

Sandra Mukasi slapped Tinotenda Kamangira in full view of Police officers as the former waited to get into court where a peace order had been applied against her.

Magistrate Perseverance Makala eventually granted the order but Mukasi was still whisked away to the Police Station where she paid fine for the assault.

The case is that Mukasi left her husband Nicholas Karonga with their children as she went to South Africa.

Karonga who works at Red Cross Society in Sakubva met Kamangira of 3897 Phase 2 Chikanga who was doing her nurse aid course there and the two fell in love after Karonga lied to her that he was a widower.

The matter came to light when Mukasi made a surprise return and found the two cohabitating at the matrimonial home. Mukasi started harassing Kamangira who applied for a peace order, praying that the court may bar Mukasi from communicating or harassing her.

As the parties waited outside the court for the matter to be heard, Mukasi slapped Kamangira.

“It is true that I dated her husband while I was on attachment but I didn’t know he was married. When I became aware of it, I stepped aside but still after that the first respondent is in the habit of harassing and assaulting me like she has just done’’, said Kamangira while sobbing.
