Villagers effect citizen arrest on suspected cattle rustlers

MUTARE-Alert villagers in Inyati monitored and later arrested three suspected cattle rustlers before handing them over to the Police. 
Manicaland Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the matter to Chipinge Times. 
He said the incident happened on Monday at Village B in Inyati around 7 pm. 
The three are Tongogara Mandaza (43), Tonderai Chiringa and Lovemore Matsika (48).
They arrived at the village aboard a Toyota Baby Quantum REG number AEW 2200 around 5 pm and parked in a bush. 
Villagers saw the suspiciously parked vehicle and took turns monitoring it until around 7 pm. 
They then approached Chiringa and quizzed him about what they were doing in the village. 
The villagers also interviewed Mandaza and Matsika arrived when they later arrived. All three men failed to give satisfactory answers. 
The villagers then searched the vehicle. They found two ropes measuring two metres, four homemade knives, two pairs of leg irons and a crane.
The villagers assaulted the trio, but Matsika managed to escape. Mandaza and Chiringa were force-marched to Chinhenga Police Station. 
 Police details who went to the village found the vehicle idling in the bush.
