Vic Ranch drug peddler remanded in custody

MASVINGO- Magistrate Tafadzwa Mhlanga has remanded Florence Shamhuyenhanzva (36) of Victoria Ranch in custody to April 11, 2023 after she was arrested in possession of crystal methamphetamine and dagga.
Shamhuyenhanzva was arrested by Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers who recovered a cob of dagga wrapped in a khaki cover, four twists of dagga, 13 sachets of dagga, 11 sachets of crystal methamphetamine, 15 crystal meth sniffing apparatus, 200 empty sachets and two lighters which were in a black plastic bag. They also recovered US$55 and ZWL$1 050 which are allegedly proceeds of the sale of drugs.
The Court heard that on March 30, 2023, at around 1 am, CID detectives were on night patrol in Vitoria Ranch near Gwanongodza Business Centre where they observed frequent movement of people at Shamhuyenhanzva’s house and suspected that she was dealing in drugs.
The detectives went to the house and introduced themselves after which they told her that they wanted to search her house. Shamhuyenhanzva complied and the detectives searched her house leading to the recovery of the drugs valued at US$3 000.
