Vic Junior tops 2023 Zimsec Grade 7 results

MASVINGO – Victoria Junior Primary School has the best Grade 7 School results in Masvingo District judging by the number of pupils with six straight units.

These are results for the 2023 October examinations released by the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Center this week.

Vic Junior has 23 candidates with six units each and at number 2 is Helen McGhie with 16 pupils who got six units. Shakashe is third with 12 candidates, traditional powerhouse, ZRP Zimuto is at number 4 with eight candidates and Gokomere which for many years was the province’s best primary school is at number 5 with 7 candidates who got 6 units.

Rujeko and Renco Primary are tied on position 6 with 6 candidates with six units. Burombo and Runyararo are tied at number 8 with 5 pupils with 6 units each.

Francis Aphiri and Kyle Preparatory are at number 10 with three candidates with six units each. 

This is from a preliminary review of results provided by the Provincial Education Director (PED) Shylatte Mhike to The Mirror yesterday. 

The results also show that girls performed far better than boys with 68 girls getting six straight units while only 38 boys did the same.

At Vic Junior 13 girls against 10 boys got 6 units; Hellen McGhie 9 girls against 7 boys; Shakashe 8 boys against 4; ZRP Zimuto 6 girls against 2 boys and Gokomere all 7 are girls. 

Masvingo, Morgenster CPS, Mutatiri, Nemazuwa, Nemamwa, Runyararo Adventist and Njovo primary schools each have a candidate acing the exams.
