Vet officer releases January disease song

MASVINGO – The Veterinary Services Department Masvingo South district head officer has ventured into music as a means of educating farmers and raising awareness on different livestock ailments.
Everet Haskes has released two songs titled Hondo ne January disease and Mutoriro.
He told The Mirror in an interview that Hondo ne January disease teaches farmers about Therioliosis (January disease) that is killing cattle whilst Mutoriro urges youth to desist from drug and substance abuse.
“It came to my attention that January disease is a threat on the national herd and i chose to compose the song titled ‘Hondo neJanuary Disease. The songs raises disease signs, symptoms, medication and ways to prevent the disease through dipping and the use of tick grease,” he said.
The two songs were produced at Magic land Studios in Zvishavane. Everet added that he is working on releasing two more tracks this year,
“My passion for music grew when I was a student at Mushandike High School. I was motivated to record educational music by my mentor Dr Jairus Machakwa. The songs are trending and farmers love them,” he added.
