USAID launches Nyangambe Conservancy business plan

CHIREDZI – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Zimbabwe Mission Director Janean Davis has launched a tourism business plan for Nyangambe Community Conservancy.The plan was launched on Monday at the conservancy.Davis said the plan is a clearly defined roadmap for improving and expanding ecotourism and increasing benefits from wildlife. She added that it will serve as a blueprint and guideline on how communities, the private sector, the Government and other stakeholders identify opportunities to invest in conservation.
The launch was attended by Masvingo Province Tourism Officer, Romana Matura, Resilience Anchors Chief of Party Jeremy Swanson, Chiredzi District Development Coordinator (DDC) Lovemore Chisema and Chiredzi Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ailes Baloyi among others.“The Tourism Business Plan provides a clearly defined roadmap for improving and expanding ecotourism and increasing benefits from wildlife and it will serve as a blueprint and guideline for how communities and private sector, the Government of Zimbabwe and other stakeholders identify opportunities to invest in conservation,” she said.
Matura said the Ecotourism Business Plan is a beacon of hope and a promise to visitors of extra ordinary encounters that celebrates local culture.“The Ecotourism Business Plan is more than just a roadmap towards sustainable ecotourism for Nyangambe Community Conservancy but a beacon of hope, a promise to visitors of extra ordinary encounters that celebrate our local culture and environment,” said Matura.Baloyi said the plan stands as a dashboard that will guide the community, development partners and potential private sector investors.“The Nyangambe Community Conservancy Ecotourism Business Plan therefore stands as a development dashboard that will guide the community, development partners, and potential private sector investors on the steps required for full realisation of expanding tourism products and experiences,” said Baloyi.
