SHURUGWI – Midlands platinum miner, Unki will soon hold a workshop for potential suppliers to its business.
The date of the one-day workshop is yet to be advised but one of the objectives is to share supply opportunities available at the giant platinum producer.
The company asked interested potential suppliers through a Press statement to apply confirming their attendance before Friday June 10, 2022.
“As part of our commitment to empowering local suppliers, we would like to conduct a short workshop highlighting supply opportunities existing at the mine for local businesses who operate within the Midlands province.


“Interested participants should apply indicating names of companies or businesses, contact details including email addresses to unkiprocurement @angloamerican.com by not later than 10 June 2022…,” reads part of the public statement.
Some of the important aspects to be discussed during the workshop include supplier registration requirements, business integrity, responsible sourcing standards, safety, health, environment and quality requirements, human rights and human resources requirements among other issues.
Unki is one of the largest miners of platinum in the country employing about 2000 workers and 1 200 contractors.
Unki is an underground mine located in the central part of the country about 58. 8km South East of Gweru.
