BUHERA – Chabadza Community Development Programme (CCDP) in partnership with the United Methodist Church in Norway have donated Covid-19 protection equipment to 20 schools in Buhera and the District Covid-19 taskforce.
Chabadza CDP is an organization formed by United Methodist Church to help disadvantaged communities around the country.
The donation of 200 tapped buckets, 150x2litres liquid soap, 10 boxes of face masks, five boxes of gloves and 1 infrared thermometer was handed over at Buhera Rural District Council on Tuesday.
The organisation went on to distribute 400 fliers and 150 calendars during a public awareness campaign at Murambinda Growth Point.
Speaking during the handover, CCDP Director Rev Musafare Mususa said the donation was in response to Government’s initial plan to open schools last month.
“We realised that schools had no source of income when Government talked about reopening them in July. We therefore mobilised resources to support schools with Covid-19 protective equipment,” said Rev Mususa.
Buhera District Schools Inspector Godfrey Chimbwanda hailed the organisation for the donations. https://masvingomirror.com
