CHIREDZI – United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr Jassim Mohamed Al Quassim recently toured Kilimanjaro in Chiredzi, a new 4 000h piece of land set aside for sugarcane farming.
Quassim was accompanied by officials from the office of the Minister of State for Masvingo Province, Chiredzi Deputy District Coordinator, Patience Mawarire, a delegation from Tongaat Hulett Zimbabwe (THZ) and Chiredzi Rural District Council (RDC) chairperson, Aspect Mashingaidze.
Quassim would however not give comments to the Press.
After Kilimanjaro, Quassim was expected to tour Great Zimbabwe Ruins, Tugwi Mukosi Dam and Mwenezi Citrus Farm.
Pitiel Mujuru, THZ Technical Services Executive told Quassim that out of the 4000, 700 are already under sugarcane production, 2 000 are cleared and 1 300 are still to be worked on.
