GWERU-Real Estate agency, Trevor Dollar has donated food hampers to Batanai Old People’s Home in Senga, Gweru as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The donation was handed over to the home’s matron Catherine Chirayi by Trevor Dollar director Victor Wasara last week.
The donation comprised food stuff as rice, sugar, cooking oil, mealie meal, drinks, soap, biscuits and toothpaste.
Wasara said the donation is in line with the company’s CSR. He urged other corporates to always remember the elderly.
“As Trevor Dollar, we wish to be partners with meaningful impact at Batanai. We heard that there are elderly people at this institution and we bought some groceries to last them at least a month. We will come again with more donations and this is part of our CSR to assist the needy,” he said.
Chirayi appreciated the donation which she said came at the appropriate time. The home has about 10 inmates.
“As an institution, we have been praying for such items to assist our elderly and our prayers have been answered just in time. We were lacking food items and these groceries are much appreciated. Please continue supporting us in this difficult economic environment,” she said.
The real estate agent Trevor Dollar has been engaging in charity work for many years including drilling boreholes and donating food stuffs to Chiwundura and Gokwe communities.
Wasara has been on the Mayor’s Cheer Fund Board of Trustees as treasurer where he carried out several voluntary projects.
