Tout beats cops, handcuffs one of them
Masvingo – A cheeky tout, Misheck Mutunzi (40) is in court after he allegedly overpowered and assaulted cops who were trying to arrest him in Masvingo before leaving one of them handcuffed.
The incident happened in October last year.
The State is led by Tatenda Dzitiro.

Mutunzi of Mucheke appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Philip Makondo and the matter was postponed to January 27, 2022 because witnesses failed to turn up, The Mirror has learnt
It is the State case that on October 11, 2021 constables Trust Zimhuka, Margarette Mupinga and Nekati were on duty wearing civilian attire and were carrying out raids targeting touts along Robert Mugabe way in Masvingo.
They noticed Mutunzi touting for passengers for a Toyota Quantum and approached him before telling him that he was under arrest.
Mutunzi allegedly refused to be arrested and retorted that he was not going to be arrested by the likes of those cops.
“Hatisungwi nemunhu akaita semi,” Mutunzi allegedly told Constable Mupinga.
Constable Zimhuka held the accused person trying to handcuff him but Mutunzi became violent and threw him to the ground. Zimhuka fell hard on the ground and sustained injuries.
Mutunzi snatched the handcuffs from constable Mupinga and handcuffed constable Zimhuka.
Benic Muchokwa then instructed his driver to collect the accused and Mutunzi jumped and held onto a trailor of the motor vehicle and they drove off leaving the cops dazed.
Mutunzi is represented by Omen Mafa.
The cops then reported at the Police Station leading to the arrest Mutunzi.
