Shurugwi – Tongogara Rural District Council (RDC) has finally procured a backhoe loader which was delivered to the local authority a few days ago.

This was a relief to the local authority after the previous management led by its CEO Brian Rufasha paid for backhoe loader from bogus suppliers that was never delivered.

Acting council chairman Golden Kapeta confirmed the acquisition bought at a cost of RTGS$15,5million to The Mirror.

“We were more thorough this time as we looked for the right suppliers. We applied due diligence to the process to avoid the last pitfall in which we lost money to bogus entrepreneurs.

“We paid for the machine after seeing it and then ensured that it was delivered immediately after payment. The backhoe loader will among other things be used to build dumping sites in the growth point,” said Kapeta.

Engineer Liberty Ncube who is the Acting CEO confirmed the development and said the equipment was supposed to be shown to stakeholders including councilors yesterday.

” We used devolution funds to procure the equipment and we are showing it today to councilors. We need to fulfill and give services to the people,” said Ncube.https://masvingomirror.com
