Tagwirei to build Chachacha – Tongogara Road
SHURUGWI- Kudakwashe Tagwirei, a businessman widely touted as a billionaire has contracted a company to build a tarred road between Chachacha and Tongogara which is his home area and construction work was supposed to start last week. This is according to a letter written by SX Construction to Tongogara Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer which is in the hands of The Mirror. SX Construction is the main contractor in the project.
In addition to the 26km road, Tagwirei will also construct Hanke, a road that leads to his rural home. The distance covered on Hanke Road is not indicated. Tongogara RDC chairperson Golden Kapeta confirmed the development and told The Mirror that the project is a donation from Tagwirei to his home area. He said that a special council meeting was held and the donation was unanimously accepted in the presence of chiefs from the area.
SX Construction told the CEO in the letter that it had been contracted under a donation from Tagwirei to construct the Tongogara – Chachacha Road. “We write this letter to inform you that SX Construction has been appointed as the main contractor for the construction and surfacing of a 26km road section connecting Chachacha and Tongogara business centre following a donation made by Kudakwashe Tagwirei,” reads the letter.
Kapeta said the special full council meeting was held on February 4, 2022. Chiwawa of SX Construction represented Tagwirei. Chief Banga and Chief Nhema, District Development Co-ordinator Romeo Shangwa were also present. “On behalf of the Rural Council, I would like to thank Tagwirei for ploughing back into the community,” said Kapeta.https://masvingomirror.com/
