Suspects loot $144 000 worth of property at Murambinda


BUHERA – Three suspects who broke into and looted property worth RTGS$144 444RT from several houses at Murambinda Growth Point in Buhera have appeared in court.

They also allegedly stole US$500 and R2 000 in cash.

Stanford Chamutsa (35) of Jaru Location, Onwell Pasipanodya (31) of Chengoma and Evison Masanga (35) also of Jaru , Murambinda appeared before Resident Murambinda Magistrate Tendai Mahwe last week facing three counts of unlawful entry.

Prosecutor Witness Hamudi said the suspects broke into Arrangement Nhendere’s house at Jaru on April 8 and stole a 32 inch Samsung television, 3kg sturdy gas tank, 100w rainbow solar panel and two blankets.

On Independence Day the accused persons stole 2×2 ply blankets, one double bed mattress, one perfume, a smart cellphone, 6x2litres orange crush, 12x750ml Raha cooking oil and cash US$500 and R2 000 from Bigboy Ndebele’s house in Central Location at Murambinda.

On 19 April 2021, one or two of the suspects entered Luckson Manditsera’s house at Central Location and stole 1x2ply blanket, 1 double bed mattress, 32 inch plasma television and 1 pair of formal shoes.

Total value of goods recovered amount to RTGS$37 000.
