BEITBRIDGE- Superintendent Crime and Operation Philisani Ndebele is the new acting Beitbridge District Officer Commanding (Dispol).
A recent transfer signal of 102 senior officers in the hands of The Mirror confirms the development.
Ndebele assumed new post with effect from Monday, (February 12).
Efforts to get a comment from national Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi and Ndebele were futile as their mobile phones went unanswered.
Ndebele replaces Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo who has left his position pending retirement on April 19.
Nyongo confirmed that he has left his post pending his retirement on April 19, this year.
Ndebele was the Public Relations and Liaison Officer (Spokesperson for Midlands province) and was transferred to Matabeleland South in the same capacity. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to be a Superintendent in 2020 and stationed in Beitbridge.
“Superintendent P. Ndebele to remain in Beitbridge DHQ as acting OC…C/Supt T Nyongo from Beitbridge DHQ to PGHQ HR Reserve…officers are expected to report to their new stations not later than 12/02/24,” reads part of the memo.
