MASVINGO – Renco Mine FC lost 1-0 in a Division One League game they hosted Chiredzi Stars at home at Maramba Stadium on Saturday.
Renco coach, Clever Phiri said the game was tough and Chiredzi Stars exerted maximum effort.
“The game was really tough. Our opponents managed to score a goal in the first half.
“Our boys played well but were not luck in front of goal. It was indeed not their day. We will work on our mistakes,” said Phiri.
The team will have a week break this week.
Renco is on position 11 with 24 points. It has won six games, drawn six and lost nine matches in 21 games.
Chiredzi Stars is on position 5 with 31 points. It has played 20 games with seven wins, 10 draws and three losses.
Chiredzi assistant coach Marko Marevesa was all smiles and praised his boys for playing purposefully.
“Our boys played very well and utilised the first half chance. The goal was shot by Clementine Mudzidzwa who curled the ball far away from the Renco keeper,” said Marevesa.
