Six Masvingo ‘killers’ nabbed

MASVINGO – Six men accused of killing a man they suspected of having a lot of money on him after winning a betting game at Sportbet in Masvingo have been arrested.
They were arrested at Sisk Shopping Centre on Monday and they appeared in court yesterday charged with murder.
The deceased’s body was found dumped in a maize field near Sisk in Mucheke on March 10, 2021.


Fungai Badza (27), Romeo Dzingai (25), Trymore Badza (22), Tatenda Madzimure (23), Tinashe Dube (29) and Lovemore Badza (29) appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Grace Tupiri facing murder charges.
They were remanded in custody to April 19, 2022, and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.


It is the State case that on March 9, 2022, the gang escorted the now deceased from Sportbet after they suspected him of winning a lot of money. The deceased proceeded to Chigudu Bar where he drank beer and the gang gathered around him.

The six allegedly waylaid the deceased on his way home and attacked him with cement bricks before stabbing him to death. They dumped his body at a maize field near Sisk ground.
The matter came to light following the arrest of Fungai Badza and Trymore Badza after they tried to rob a hardware in Mucheke B. The two went on to disclose to Police detectives that they were responsible for killing the deceased.


This led to the arrest of Madzimure, Badza, Dube and Dzingai at Sisk Shops.https://masvingomirror.com/
