Shurugwi man prays for a victim he had stabbed to death

SHURUGWI – A Shurugwi man could not contain his fear and remorse after he allegedly stabbed a drunken man who was a nuisance at a bar to death.
Talent Nhema of Darckcity Surbubs, Shurugwi knelt down and prayed before Njabulo Ncube (27) whom he had allegedly stabbed with a knife. He prayed and pleaded with him to wake up.
After praying Nhema then took Ncube to hospital but his predicament worsened when he was told that Ncube was dead. Nhema then took a pesticide and is now admitted at the hospital.
Midlands Police Spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko said he is yet to receive the case.
Ward 11 councillor Tavarwisa Tavarwisa confirmed the incident.
The incident happened September 28, 2022 at 10 pm when both the accused and the deceased were drinking beer at Pachipamwe Beerhall. The deceased became a nuisance and started insulting people and provoking them because he was too drunk. The accused got angry and attacked him.
The angry family of the deceased dumped the coffin and body at the homestead of the accused until Police intervened. The body was later taken to Mberengwa for burial.
