Shurugwi – A Shurugwi grandmother is still in shock after her 10-year-old, Grade 4 grandson hanged himself from the beam of a house for no apparent reason.
Tadiwanashe Sibanda was doing grade 4 at Chironde Primary School of Village 17, Ward 19 Shurugwi. He hung himself at her grandmother’s place on Friday.
The grandmother, Anna Sibanda confirmed the incident to The Mirror and said she was traumatized by the incident. She could only say that it was the work of evil spirits.
“I lost such a jolly good young boy. On Friday, when he came from school, he started playing outside with his young brother. He then just disappeared at around 5 pm. Thirty minutes later, his brother discovered that there was no rope to fasten the goats. I told him to get assistance from his brother.
“He went into the house to look for another rope and discovered that his brother was hanging from a beam truss. He told me, and we rushed back there, but he was already dead. The boy was buried on Sunday,” said Sibanda.
Ward councillor Brian Chiteme said it was unusual for a kid to make such a decision.https://masvingomirror.com/
