ZVISHAVANE-Sums Pools has donated a football kit valued at US$270 to struggling Shabanie Mine FC.
Sums Pools is a Zvishavane swimming pool construction and maintenance company.
The kit was donated on Saturday but unveiled on Sunday during the nil-all draw against Blanket Mine FC.
Sums Pools director Victor Sumbani told The Mirror that he was touched by the plight of the yesteryear giants and decided to donate the kit.
“I sponsor Zvishavane Elders FC, and most of the players used to play for Shabanie. They told me that the club was struggling financially, so it drove me to donate this kit,” said Shumbani.
Shabanie Mine FC is struggling financially. Last week it missed its away game against army side Tongogara FC after failing to raise transport fees for the players and technical bench.
The club failed to play in the Division One league last year after failing to raise affiliation fees.
