MASVINGO- Species College Executive Director Wilson Seremani has won this year’s edition of the Southern Tours Invitational Golf Tournament.
He dethroned Alex Siyavora who won the two previous editions and received the floating trophy.
Edwin Manikai of Dube, Manikai and Hwacha (DMH) Legal Practitioners came second. National Foods Limited (NFL) board chairman Godfrey Gwainda came third.
The Sports for All Trust organized annual tournament is sponsored by OK Zimbabwe, DMH and Species College.
The proceeds were donated to Ratidzo Zimcare Trust and Alpha Cottages.
A total of 38 professional and amateur golfers participated in the tournament.
Seremani applauded all participants. He said it is a collective effort to bring smiles to the faces of less privileged children in society.
Tournament convener Tendayi Gwatiringa said that the event is getting bigger and better with every edition.
He added that they have already slated June 28 – 29, 2025 for the next edition.
“The tournament has become a staple on the golf calendar and continues to grow in popularity and support.
“We are definitely looking forward to next year’s tournament, which promises to be an even bigger event,” said Gwatiringa.
The tournament raised US$2 000 that was used to buy groceries that were donated to Alpha Cottages in Eastvale and Ratidzo Zimcare Trust in Mucheke. The donations were handed over on Saturday evening.
