MASVINGO-Leading producer and marketer of certified seed in Zimbabwe, Seed-Co, has launched a new high-yielding wheat variety, SC Serena.
Seed-Co Southern Region Agronomist Godfrey Magavhu confirmed the launch of the SC Serena to The Mirror.

He said this is the third wheat seed after the SC Select and SC Nduna.
“As Seed-Co, we encourage farmers to take farming as a business. Let’s adopt improved varieties which have better yields. It starts with the right seed to attain bumper harvests,” said Magavhu.

He said SC Serena has high yields across all ecological zones of up to 12 tonnes per hectare under good management, and its moderate height adds resistance to wheat rust.
