MASVINGO – A second person has collapsed and died in Masvingo in Mucheke D barely minutes after The Mirror reported the death of another woman who collapsed and died at Landmark in the CBD after disembarking from a bus from the rural areas.
Health officials who collected the bodies said that they are taking serious precautionary measures including suspecting Covid-19 as the cause of the deaths.
The same group of health workers who collected the body at the Landmark is the one that immediately rushed to Mucheke to collect the second.
Efforts to get a comment from the Police or the Ministry of Health were futile.
The second death happened barely minutes after the first. The first person collapsed some minutes to nine while using a toilet at Landmark. The second person collapsed and died in Mucheke soon after nine.
President Mnangagwa has warned that the virus in the third wave is more lethal than in the first two although he continues to authorise rallies, meetings and other gatherings by his ruling Zanu PF party.
