Second Beitbridge Arts-Awards this Friday

BEITBRIDGE – Eighty-four youth have been nominated in 30 categories for Friday’s Sundrive Coalition organised Beitbridge Arts Awards at Purple Hearts. 

Coalition director Innocent Chenjerai told Two Nations that the ceremony runs from 5 pm and voting is ongoing on their social media platforms. 

He said the second edition of the annual awards is running under the theme: #ZWA HASHU (It is ours).

“The theme means that we are celebrating our cultural diversity, the untapped inheritance that is in Beitbridge,” he said.

Gwanda-based businessman Coaster Ncube will be the guest of honour. 

Regular tickets are ZAR100, while VIP tickets are ZAR200. VVIP tickets which cover refreshments are ZAR300.

Award categories include best music video, best make-up artist, best cake designer, best short film, media personality, Media Company, radio personality, talent promoter, MC of the year, most improved artist of the year, music artistand music video of the year. 

Chenjerai added that veteran artists will be honoured for inspiring youth and teaching them to be innovative.
