BEATRICE – Manyame Rural District Council (RDC) has bought a tipper-truck, motorised grader, a front end loader and a vibratory roller to complement government’s Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme.
This was confirmed by the District’s Chief Executive Officer Farirai Guta who said they took RTGS$45m from the Devolution funds ans used for the purpose.
“Council received devolution funds and has prioritised the purchase of road maintenance equipment including a tipper-truck, front end loader, motorised grader and a vibratory roller.
“This will see the successful implementation of Government’s Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme. We all along had to hire the equipment,” she said.
The local authority also used RTGS$5 from the devolution to sink 25 new boreholes and rehabilitate 60 others.
