Retired Vurombo Primary teacher dies

MASVINGO – Esther Memory Dhliwayo (69), a teacher who retired in 2014 after serving Vurombo Primary School in Mucheke, Masvingo for 35 years is no more.

She passed on at Masvingo Provincial Hospital yesterday morning after battling diabetes for several years. She was admitted at the hospital with partial blindness, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Ellis Simbarashe Dhliwayo, the son of the deceased confirmed the death to The Mirror. Mourners are gathered at 2048/4 Chitepo Street in Pangolin.

“We are waiting for our siblings in South Africa so that we can make burial arrangements,” said Ellis.

Esther trained at Kwenda Teachers’ College and joined Chikato Primary in 1983 before joining Vurombo in 1986 where she worked until she retired on ill-health in 2014.
