MASVINGO- A Renco fisherman has died after he was stabbed several times on the head, neck and back by a drunk patron who despised drinking at the same bar with fishermen.
Crispen Kibi (51) of Nhongo Village under Chief Nyajena, Masvingo was stabbed with a knife once on the forehead, twice in the throat and four times on the back by Tichaona Madyezvikanda (26) of Village 8 Tokwane Ngundu.

Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident to The Mirror. The incident happened on Thursday last week around 11 pm at Mujenya Business Centre.
Dhewa urged the public to control their temper when drunk and value the sanctity of life.
Kibi was drinking beer at a bar at the business centre in the company of Tamuka Nhoko (35) when Madyezvikanda stood up and ordered them to leave because he despises fishermen.

He allegedly called them ‘Vakwashi’, a derogatory name for fishermen. Nhoko told him that fishermen have names and are proud of their trade as it is their source of income.
Madyezvikanda then attacked Nhoko, who later escaped. Madyezvikanda chased him out of the bar and pursued him for nearly 500m before returning to the bar and found Kibi seated and drinking his beer.
Madyezvikanda attacked him and stabbed him once in the forehead, twice in the throat and four times in the back. Kibi died on the spot.
Police arrested Madyezvikanda after a report at Renco Police Station. The Police took Kibi’s body to Masvingo General Hospital for postmortem.
