REDCLIFF-The Municipality of Redcliff is completing the construction of a dining hall at Rutendo Old People’s Home which the authority expects to commission at the end of April 2023.
Redcliff Mayor, Clayton Masiyatsva, confirmed the development to The Mirror in a telephone interview.

He said the municipality used money and donations from the Mayor’s Cheer Fund to carry out the project.
“Construction of the dining hall is near completion and we intend to commission it by end of this month. We are doing final touches and our builders are now plastering and doing the floors,” he said.

Masiyatsva said some of the donations towards the project were done by companies including Steelmakers, Puregold Housing Trust and Livertouch.
“We received donations and building materials from a number of companies and corporates and we really appreciate their support,” he said.
The home was established in the late 1970s and is home to more than 20 senior citizens.
