CHIPINGE–Zanu PF politburo has disqualified Robert Nyemudzo for allegedly being a drug manufacturer as the party frantically attempts to give a lifeline to bigwigs condemned to the dustbin in its internal elections a fortnight ago. Nyemudzo defeated Chipinge South sitting Member of Parliament (MP) Enock Porusungazi by 4 733 votes against 1585.
Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Christopher Mutsvangwa told journalists yesterday that Porusingazi will now represent the party in the coming general elections after Nyemudzo’s disqualification.
Nyemudzo allegedly owns an illicit drug manufacturing factory. Mutsvangwa said the party took a strict stance against drug peddlers.
Information Communication Technology (ITC) minister Jenfan Muswere also bounced back after losing in Makoni West to Moses Ruwona and was disqualified.
Zanu PF National Political Commissar Mike Bimha announced the winners endorsed by the politburo.
