Police release Mwenezi accident victims’ names

MWENEZI-The Zimbabwe Republic Police has released names of four people who were killed in a fatal road accident which occurred at the 180 km peg along Masvingo- Beitbridge road in Mwenezi yesterday morning.
Two other victims in the accident have not yet been identified by their next of kin whilst three who got injured are admitted at Neshuro district hospital.
The victims were identified as Musaida Kamukono (44) of Chimanimani, Blessing Rambiwa (40) of Chiredzi, Jesina Masimba (35) of Chiredzi and Pellagia Manase (53) of Chiredzi.
The bodies were taken to Masvingo Provincial hospital mortuary for post mortem.
A statement released by the Police says the Nissan Caravan which had eight passengers on board was involved in a head on collision with a Mercedes Benz truck.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges drivers to observe stipulated speed limits and be exemplary on the roads. Road safety should be the primary focus of driving on the country’s roads in order to safeguard lives,” reads the statement
